Department of Zoology

Introduction:

The department of Zoology is established at the beginning of science faculty with view and motivation to develop awareness among students for bridging the gap between science and environment. Zoology and its sub-branches are catering and providing livelihood to the people worldwide which also needs to reach to this educationally diverse area. The department of Zoology is established with well furnish, equipped laboratory for providing practical as well as theoretical knowledge to students. The department is actively engaged in execution of various academic and other activities for boosting the confidence of the students for accepting the everyday challenges for making the life happy and comfortable.

Aim:

• The department is established with the aim and motivation to provide knowledge of Zoology and everyday developments in life science so as to spread awareness and understanding about modern technology among peoples through students.

Objectives:

1. To create awareness among students about the latest streams of life sciences including biotechnology, tissue culture, genetic engineering.
2. To develop awareness and understanding the value of Zoology through teaching learning method.
3. To guide for career and personality development.
4. To inspire the student for regional animal study.
5. To create awareness regarding the conservation of animals and biodiversity.
6. To increase the knowledge of student for research.
7. To improve the quality of laboratory and field work for which zoological study tours and excursions have been made compulsory so that the students can become familiar with reality of ecosystem and surrounding study.
8. To prepare students to attract and develop interest in physiology, genetics, cell biology, fisheries science, Parasitology so that the students can select zoology as their carrier.
